You can delete your Estavo account and all associated data at any time. This page explains what gets deleted, what is retained and why, and how to request deletion if you no longer have access to your account. All deletion requests are processed within 30 days.
1. Delete Your Account In-App
This is the fastest way to delete your account and all data.
Web app (estavo.net):
- Log in at app.estavo.net
- Go to Settings → Account → Danger Zone
- Click Delete Account
- Confirm by typing your email address and clicking Permanently Delete My Account
Android app:
- Open the Estavo app and log in
- Tap your profile icon → Settings
- Scroll to Account → Delete Account
- Confirm deletion
2. Request Deletion by Email
If you no longer have access to your account (forgotten password, lost device, or deactivated email), you can request deletion by email. We will verify your identity before processing.
Send an email to support@estavo.net with:
- Subject: Account Deletion Request
- The email address registered to your Estavo account
- Your organization name (if you remember it)
- A brief description of why you need deletion by email rather than in-app (e.g., lost access)
We will respond within 5 business days to verify your identity and confirm the deletion request. The actual deletion completes within 30 days of confirmation.
3. What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently deleted from our systems and backups within 30 days:
- Your name and email address
- Your hashed password and all active sessions
- All properties, units, and their attributes
- All transaction records (income, expenses, bookings)
- All obligation templates and obligation policies
- All maintenance requests and vendor contacts
- All access credentials (door codes, WiFi passwords) — the encrypted values and the encryption mappings
- All uploaded files (receipt photos, documents) from object storage
- All team members associated with your organization
- All analytics events linked to your account in PostHog
- Push notification tokens (mobile)
4. What May Be Retained and Why
A small amount of data may be retained after account deletion for specific legal or operational reasons:
- Billing and payment records — Stripe payment receipts and subscription history may be retained for up to 7 years as required by financial regulations and tax law. These records are held in Stripe's system under your Stripe customer ID; we retain only the Stripe customer ID and payment status, not your account data.
- Aggregate analytics — Anonymized, aggregated product usage statistics that cannot be linked back to you individually may be retained indefinitely (e.g., "feature X was used 500 times in June 2026" — with no link to any specific user).
- Security logs — Login attempt logs and audit trail entries may be retained for up to 90 days for fraud prevention and security review purposes. After 90 days, these are deleted.
- Legal holds — If your account is subject to an active legal request, court order, or regulatory investigation, we may be required to retain certain data beyond the standard 30-day deletion window. You will be notified of any such hold to the extent legally permitted.
5. Export Before Deleting
Before deleting your account, we recommend exporting your data. Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.
To export: Settings → Data → Export All Data. This generates a CSV download of all your transactions, properties, units, and obligation records. Export is available on all plans, including the free tier.
After initiating account deletion, your data remains accessible for 30 days so you can export it. After the 30-day window, deletion is irreversible.
6. Organization Accounts (Team Plans)
If you are the organization owner and delete your account, the entire organization is deleted — including all team members' access and all data. Team members will lose access immediately.
If you are a team member (not the owner) and delete your user account, only your personal user record is deleted. Organization data is not affected. You will simply be removed from the team.
Organization owners who want to remove the entire organization should notify team members before initiating deletion.
